Avengers/Defenders — Who is your Superhero?

What do superheroes do? According to Wikipedia, they have supernatural powers and are dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public and battling supervillains.

Of course with grandchildren all five and under, I’ve been reintroduced to the world of superheroes!  I still don’t have a clear picture in my mind of who belongs to what group.  There are Guardians of the Galaxy, the Justice League, someone called Ironman and another called Thor.  I’m not up to date on all their superpowers yet, but I think this information is in my future!

What do superheroes do?  According to Wikipedia, they have supernatural powers and are dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public and battling supervillains.  Superheroes are fictional characters dating back to at least the early 1900’s.  Robin Hood was perhaps the first who wore a distinctive mask and costume.  In the 1940’s, the superhero era took off with the invention of Green Lantern and The Flash.  This movement has continued to expand and is as popular as ever.  Especially in my house!  Apparently there is always crime to fight and people to save when the grandkids get together!!

We want superheroes.  We actually need superheroes.  But not necessarily of the imaginative kind.  Is their crime present in your city?  Do evil intentions of others prey upon innocence?  Do villains exist in the here and now?  Of course!

You’ve probably seen or heard of this saying:  “God is my Superhero”!  This statement is truth!  Does He vindicate righteousness?  Will he protect the lowly?  Check out Psalm 119:126-128.

Live without fear, He’s got your back!
